Become a GCERF Grant Recipient in Nigeria

GCERF, in collaboration with the Country Support Mechanism (CSM) in Nigeria, is pleased to announce a call for expressions of interest (EOIs) for civil society organisations (CSOs) in Nigeria to develop a consortium and become a Principal Recipient (PR) of funding from GCERF’s Core Funding Mechanism (CFM).  Under the CFM, GCERF funds consortia of CSOs and community based organisations (CBOs) to implement initiatives aimed at strengthening community resilience against violent extremism.

Consortium grants are managed and supported by the PRs who are the legal recipients of GCERF funding and provide funding to other consortium members or “Sub-Recipients” (SRs).

The full package of completed EOIs documents must be submitted electronically to call.nigeria@gcerf.org by 23:59 on 1 October. The email should be marked as EOI-NIGERIA’ – in the subject line. Failing to do so might compromise your submission.

Prerequisites

  1. Appropriate legal registration of the consortium lead in Nigeria.
  2. Willingness to accept and fulfil the role of a Principal Recipient (as described herein).  

Required Capabilities

  1. Experience and capacity in community-level initiatives that address the local drivers of violent extremism and strengthen resilience against violent extremist agendas.
  2. Established relationships and credibility with the communities and population groups in the geographical areas identified in the Call.
  3. Experience and capacity in programme design and management.
  4. Experience and capacity in financial management and in the management of and accounting for international donor grant funding. 
  5. Experience in managing sub-recipients. assessing and enhancing their capacities.
